Work it, feel it !
Work it, feel it !
Vienna biennale 2017 at the Kunsthalle Wien
Everywhere intelligent production and logistics systems are being developed and implemented, threatening the human labour market by making workers redundant. Automation is no longer confined to routine-based, manual tasks. Now it encompasses all repetitive activities, of both cognitive and manual nature. What are the consequences for the world of work, for the performance and perception of work itself ? Is man forced to choose between precarity and hyper-flexibility ? Does work remain a necessary way to individuate and position oneself socially ? What about artistic work : is the artist the paradigm of a hyper-flexible worker or does he represent a way to escape the subjugation of the rules of capital ?
